THE ARC FAMINE WAY WALK IN MAYO 5-7^th November 2010

The ARC Challenge for November this year is again the spectacular walk in Mayo which follows the route of the famous Famine Way Walk.

Fri 5th Nov ‘10

Arrival

Make your way to Westport Hotel & Spa where 2 nights’ B&B and 1 evening meal on Saturday is arranged.

Optional: Walk up Croagh Patrick Friday at 12.15pm

-          Note: walking boots are mandatory for Croagh Patrick. Please wear appropriate clothing and bring a back pack to carry an extra layer, waterproofs, a hat, gloves, water, sandwiches and energy bars/snacks. Walking sticks are recommended but optional. ARC will provide high visibility vests which must be worn.

-          Walk time: approx. 4 hrs

Sat 6th Nov ‘10

Walk

-     Meet in Hotel foyer to set off at 9.30am sharp by coach from Hotel to Dholough to start the famous Walk.   Follow the Famine Way Walk, approx 10 miles, through breathtaking valleys and magnificent countryside to Louisburgh.  Please wear appropriate clothing, walking shoes/boots and bring a back pack to carry an extra layer, waterproofs, a hat, gloves, sandwiches, water and energy bars/snacks. ARC will provide high visibility vests which must be worn on the walk. After finishing walk, coach pick up for return to Westport Woods Hotel for celebration dinner at 8pm with group

-     Walk time: approx 3.5 – 4 hrs

-          Check out and set off Sunday morning to respective destinations. (Return not included)

Sponsorship for Walk: €500 which includes all of the above.
Registration: Complete Registration Form and return to ARC Cancer Support Centre, 65 Eccles St., Dublin 7 along with your non-refundable deposit of €100. All cheques to ARC Trust.
