ARC Cancer Support Centre would love you to join them again on our 2nd fab walk, Sunday 19th Dec 2010 up Djouce Mountain. We are only asking for a weenchie donation but guarantee, and with weather permitting, you will have a fantastic day out and if you cannot make it, tell a pal!
WALK DETAILS:
Walk on Sun 20thth Dec up fabulous Djouce Mountain. Take a well-earned break from the Christmas madness and walk some of the ‘Wicklow Way Walk’ with wonderful people. Weather permitting, we will be stopping about 45 minutes into the walk for some Carol Singing along with a special ‘Ceremony of the Light’ to remember our friends and family, hosted by our very own ‘ARC Angel’ Mary Scarff. We plan to finish with Mulled Wine and Mince Pies (all sponsored) not to mention huge quantities of fresh air/great exercise/exceptional scenery and great craic. Whoever feels energetic enough after the ceremony should continue up Djouce Mountain to finish off.
We plan to meet at Crone’s Car Park (half a mile past the entrance to Powerscourt Waterfall) at 10am sharp on Sunday 20th. We recommend if you going to the top of Djouce that wear correct walking shoes, two walking sticks (optional but helpful), breathable clothing (include a hat and gloves), water and a change of clothes just in case the weather changes. Please do not be late as it starts to get dark at 4.30pm. This walk is suitable for all levels of fitness but recommend children should be at least 12 years plus. Complete Djouce walk will take approximately 4/5 hours (excluding time spent at ceremony of light).
Please contact Grainne 087 2055566 so we can get an idea as to who is joining us for this very special Christmas walk with friends and family.
Sponsorship: All donations greatly appreciated.
